Brand Description:
With the vast majority of the people in our society working tirelessly, we often forget to be creative and pursue activities that are slow-paced and simpler.

Humans have an innate need to connect with other living things such as animals and plants; and closeness to nature is known to be beneficial for our well-being as the hobby of tending to plants creates feelings of calmness, contentment and a sense of comfort.

Originated in Japan, a Kokedama (translated as a ball of moss) is a popular ancient Japanese gardening display of houseplants. It is believed to be a form of bonsai called ne-arai (pronounced neh-ah-rye), meaning "no pot".

These potless plants are a reflection of the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-sabi, which promotes the appreciation of the imperfections of nature. This Japanese philosophy entails simplicity, warmth, earthy, irregularity, roughness, naturalness, acceptance and judgment-free observation -- which is what Kokedama is all about.

With that, Kokedama was brought to life with the intention of encouraging people to pick up simple gardening skills and enjoy the peacefulness that greenery naturally brings into our everyday lives.

Session Description:
